Who I am

I am a PhD candidate researching in the area of parallelism. Specifically, my research is focused on extracting the inherent parallelism within sequential programs.

As well as my academic studies I am also a Microsoft MVP. I also maintain a technical blog which can be found here.

Research Interests

My main interests lie within compilers and operating systems. In particular I am interested in program analysis, and parallelism. The following is a list of projects that are loosely connected to my research interests:

• CPU Scheduling Simulator: a simulation environment for prototyping and analysing custom scheduling algorithms.
• Data Structures and Algorithms: a library of data structures and algorithms written in C#.
• Data Structures and Algorithms: Annotated Reference with Examples (Book): accompanying book for the DSA project.
• Rotor for Vista x86: a slightly modified version of the Shared Source CLI that compiles perfectly on Vista x86 using the VC++ 8.0 compiler.
• Design Patterns: a collection of design pattern examples as well as links to the design patterns article series I authored.
